The Public Health Division of the Department of Public Health and Human Services administers the Medication Assistance Program (MAP) that helps county residents with the issue of purchasing prescription medicines. This grant-funded program works closely with  an individuals health care provider and drug companies to provide free or low-cost medicines to residents  who meet certain eligibility requirements. MAP offers persons to meet one-on-one with a specially trained pharmacist, revies medications and medical history,  to provide information on how  to use medicines wisely, and to help lower drug costs. A short screening can be conducted over the phone to see if an individual may be eligible for the program and pertinent information will be shared regarding what is needed to enroll.
