Now you know the staff and crew of the Tom Joyner Morning Show is truly old school, while engaged in the latest technology and social networking that's currently available. However it struct a chord...at least with me....when Tom Joyner commented not too long ago that albums from 'back in the day' doubled as a great way to stay cool during the hot summer months because he and Jay Anthony Brown would use them as fans..something you can't quite do with a mp3 player, ipod, or even cd! Although modern-day technology is a good thing- what other old school items(and not necessarily just electronics) do you miss and even wish were still around today?!?
GREAT MOVIES...I CAN REMEMBER BACK IN THE DAY WHEN I WENT TO THE MOVIES AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK...IT WAS A PASTIME IN NEW YORK...THEY WERE SO MUCH BETTER MADE WITH PEOPLE WHO COULD ACT...I SAW "TRADERS"...I MUST SAY THIS IS ABOUT THE BEST MOVIE I'VE SEEN IN THE LAST 5 YEARS OR SO...INCLUDING THOSE THAT WERE MADE BY TYLER PERRY...AND THAT'S SAYING A LOT!!
Not I'm Not as 'Old' as some would like to think to Truly credit myself as being 'Old School'...Yet my Memory Lane is Long and Cherished.
I member the days when Playing outside with a New Hula Hoop... Or a Pair of Roller skates with Pink Fuzzie Balls on Top were the Highlight of a Lazy Summer Afternoon. Not stuck indoors on a Wii. I grew up in a House w/a Woodburning Stove. That Not Only keep the Whole House Warm (Hot) and Cozy but could Cook up a Mean Breakfast of Bacon/Eggs/Grits and Some of the BEST Fried Chicken this side of Yadkin River. When the Power went out Everybody in the neighborhood was Crashed at my House. It made for some of the BEST Sleep-Overs!! I recall the Best way to Listen to the Latest Song on the Radio was when a Guy was Walkin down the Block with a Boom-box on His Shoulder. When he stoped at a Friends house...we had an Instant Block Party!! Hell it was Not untill I was that I Graduated from High School that I even got a CD Player. I still Loved my Walk-man and taking Blank Tapes to record Music from Off the Radio. With the Set-up I had in My Mom's Living Room...I was a Regular DJ.;-)
(My sis got me MP3 for Christmas Last Yr that I have YET to take Out the Package lol). I'll tell anybody I know...that 'When in Doubt...go Old School.'
